Blueberry Scone

About once a week I start the day with something sweet like a donut or a pastry. In the past that's meant a stop along my commute to work. Now, it's generally been making trip to different places on the east side of Madison and then returning home before starting work. One place I go to is Ledger Coffee Roasters. They have been purveyors of the boutique, vegan Level 5 Donuts on Thursdays and Fridays. The non-vanilla/chocolate varieties of these donuts can be hard to get.

This week the donuts were missing, but there were some blueberry-lemon scones available, made by Heirloom Bakery and Kitchen, which is also 100% vegan. If you're curious about them, here's a link to some search results linking to them. I'm not linking to FB-based sites directly.

It's really good scone. Not dry, and it was quite filling. And like a lot of the vegan bakeries, I found out it was vegan after the fact.
