Breakfast Bierock
Bierock is one of my favorite restaurants. Bierocks go by other names, depending on where you are. Here in Wisconsin, they're also known as "pasties", but they're really a food from a bygone era. It's the kind of food railroad builders and miners would snack on at lunch time at lunch time in the 19th century. So what is it? It's a bit like a calzone or a hot pocket, but the pastry is more light and bready than greasy. The filling can be just about anything, but the traditional is ground beef, sauerkraut, and onion. My favorites are the breakfast ones or the buffalo chicken.
