Unfair
I think that feeling of unfairness goes hand-in-hand with sports, but when a league makes an effort to make things more fair with VAR, they just shoot themselves in the foot when the VAR decision is clearly wrong. It multiplies the unfairness they set ought to avoid. I don't know what else to say about that. I haven't felt this upset about a refereeing decision since the March 8, 2011 debacle at Camp Nou (I was there) when Van Persie was sent off for an inocuous kicking of the ball that irritated the referee.
Somehow it never feels like the universe is in balance and these things even out and the proverbial just-desserts are eaten. I don't see it. This is the type of thing that could perhaps galvanize the squad, but let's just say I'm getting old for that fairy-tale sentiment.
